Grey Grannies 2025 The Rotary Club of Meaford recently donated $500 to the Grey Grannies, part of the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign. This generous donation will help sub-Saharan African grandmothers who are raising grandchildren and others because of the AIDS and HIV epidemic. The funds are used by the grandmothers for food, shelter, education, to assist the grandmothers in learning ways to become financially independent for their families, and for prevention of violence towards young girls. The Grey Grandmothers is a fund-raising volunteer group. Grey Grannies are not all grandmothers themselves but share the passion to support grandmothers in Africa in their endeavours. We meet on the 1st Monday of each month at 10:00 am at the Grace United Church in Thirnbury, Ontario. Please phone 705-888-1496 if interested in more information about our active group.

Coldest Night of the Year 2025The Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser, in collaboration with the Meaford Rotary Club, aims to provide essential support to individuals and families in Meaford facing the challenges of poverty. The funds raised will directly support one of United Way Bruce Grey’s core priorities: “From Poverty to Possibility.” This initiative funds programs that tackle food insecurity, utility assistance, homelessness, and the provision of school supplies to students from low-income families, fostering long-term change and hope for a better future.
This event will help more Meaford residents bridge the gap between their income and the hardships of poverty. Proceeds will also support the Meaford Food Bank and Outreach, the Rotary Thrift Shop, and outreach programs offering mental health and physical support to the community’s most vulnerable.
Funds raised through the Coldest Night of the Year walk, happening on Saturday, February 22, 2025, will directly benefit vulnerable members of the Meaford community. Join us in making a meaningful difference for those in need right here in Meaford. How to Participate:
